Youth Climate Collective

To build up on the success of the Youth Manifesto on Climate Change - which is a collective call to action from Nigerian youth to the government, outlining crucial areas they believe are in need of urgent political intervention; Surge Africa developed the Youth Climate Collective which is an initiative that seeks to streamline the demands of the Youth Manifesto into actionable points to ensure that the call to action outlined in the Youth Manifesto on Climate Change are prioritized and implemented.

The Youth Climate Collective recognizes the negative effects of climate change on Nigeria’s people and its threat to the nation’s potential for development, therefore, it will use its agency to urge the Government at all levels to recognize the magnitude of the climate crisis faced by Nigerians especially its impact on the younger generation inorder to mobilize, support, promote, and/or implement sustainable and impactful multi-level climate adaptation measures across the country.

The vision for the Youth Climate Collective is to build a network of youth changemakers leading on Climate Governance and Diplomacy in Nigeria and scale to other parts of the African continent.
