Job Overview
As the Climate Security Lead, you will be tasked with co-designing, and managing the program framework for Surge Africa’s newly established project; The Skylark Centre for Climate Security. You will manage the project, conduct research, establish relationship with stakeholders, and carry out important assignments.
Job Description & Responsibilities
Co-design and manage the program framework of the project.
Carry out research and data analysis, conduct field visit and harmonize findings into a report.
Support the establishment of a website, and ensure strategic communication of the project among allies and relevant stakeholders. Manage any social media account related to the project.
Propose innovative and cutting-edge strategies on ways to scale the program, keeping in trend with emerging issues and relevance of intervention to the sector.
Manage all aspects of the project
Qualifications
You must be a data and research analyst with at least 3 years of experience in fields of climate security, crisis prevention, peace building and/or human security.
Have a reasonable knowledge and experience with climate, energy and security politics.
Have measurable and demonstrable experience crafting and conceptualizing solution-oriented dialogues focused on a high-level audience.
A creative thinker that can develop strategic communications initiative.
A multi-tasker that works well both alone and as part of a team.
Must be willing to travel locally and across regions.
